Let us list some simple activities that you can do after finishing your lessons.
We sometimes finish our lessons earlier. Instead of exploiting that time ,we leave our learners just sitting and making noise.
Activity one: Write a letter on the board. Invite learners to give you words that contain this letter.You can use this activity as a team work.
To make it more challenging, you can ask learners to give you words that are only related to a certain topic( Lexis set).For ...instance, they are asked to give words that are only related to animals, life in the past, travelling.........etc.
You can also ask them to give you words according to their part of speech :Adjectives ( Short,long ,regular, irregular.....),adverbs( regular,irregular,manner.....),verbs ( regular,irregular,linking.....), nouns ( regular or irregular)........etc.
Activity two: Write a word on the board. Invite a learners to give you a word that starts with a letter that the previous word finishes with.For instance, good....do...on....no...open...name....eggs....so....or....read.........It is better to adopt team work to deal with those activities .The same thing is done as previously said To make it more challenging you can ask learners to give you words that are only related to a certain topic( Lexis set).For instance, they are asked to give words that are only related to animals, life in the past, travelling.........etc.
